Ashley Mottern
Primary Lead Guide
Ashley has over a decade of experience working with children across a wide variety of settings, from in-home care to Montessori classrooms. She began her journey in early childhood education as a childcare provider in 2006 and has since taught infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with a focus on fostering independence and a love of learning.
Before joining Young Minds, Ashley served as a Pre-Primary Lead Teacher at Heritage Montessori, where she managed classroom operations, guided assistant teachers, and developed Montessori-inspired lessons. Most recently, she has been a Primary Co-Teacher at Grace Montessori Academy, where she continued to refine her Montessori practice. She also holds CDA training and is CPR and First Aid certified.
Ashley is passionate about providing a nurturing and structured environment where children feel safe to explore, discover, and grow. She believes in meeting children where they are, encouraging curiosity, and supporting them as they gain confidence and independence.
Outside the classroom, Ashley enjoys coaching youth sports, spending time outdoors, and being with her family. She has volunteered as a volleyball, soccer, and softball coach over the years and loves combining her passion for teaching with community involvement.
